Salesforce (NYSE:CRM) has announced the location of its first AI Center in London, where industry experts and customers will be able to collaborate to advance AI innovation and take advantage of upskilling opportunities. Last year, the San Francisco-based tech behemoth pledged to invest $4 billion in its U.K. operations over five years to boost AI innovation. Salesforce’s AI investment in the UK is a great move to accelerate AI innovations.

The UK AI Centre will be a collaborative space where industry experts, partners, and customers can drive AI innovation and gain valuable skills. Zahra Bahrololoumi, CEO of Salesforce UKI, emphasized the centre’s strategic importance: “By locating Salesforce’s first AI Centre in London, we are sending a clear message to customers and partners about AI: we are deeply committed to working closely together so that you can reap the benefits of this transformative technology while ensuring it is a force for good.”

Salesforce’s investment in AI is expected to make a significant contribution to the UK economy. According to IDC, the UK Salesforce economy could create more than 500,000 jobs by 2028. To equip the workforce with the necessary skills, the Salesforce UK AI Centre will hold its first free event, the AI Now Tour, on June 18. This event will train over a hundred developers and administrative workers, as part of Salesforce’s global commitment to upskill 100,000 developers. In addition to in-person training, Salesforce continues to provide upskilling through Trailhead, its free online learning platform. Over 7 million people have used Trailhead to improve their skills, earning 2.9 million badges in the United Kingdom alone.

Deputy Mayor of London for Business and Growth, Howard Dawber, said, “London is quickly becoming one of the world’s most important AI business hubs, and we warmly welcome Salesforce’s decision to establish its pioneering UK AI Center in the capital. The new UK AI Centre will bring together industry experts to innovate and collaborate. It will prepare Londoners for future jobs and opportunities, as well as boost our economy as we work to make our city a fairer and better place for all”
