    Salesforce announced Life Sciences Cloud for Pharma and  MedTech

    Salesforce introduced Life Sciences Cloud, a trusted, safe system for pharmaceutical (Pharma) and medical technology (MedTech) organizations to help them accelerate drug and device development, enroll and retain patients throughout the clinical trial journey, and leverage AI to deliver personalized customer experiences.

    Benefits to Pharma and  MedTech Industry

    To improve R&D initiatives and clinical trials, the life sciences industry relies on accurate, readily accessible data. However, the industry remains far behind in terms of embracing digital solutions that would improve efficiency and accuracy, with 88% of healthcare and life sciences organizations still failing to meet their digital transformation goals.

    Salesforce is utilizing its healthcare expertise to better assist life sciences organizations by adding clinical trials, revenue management, and more personalized communication features, offering the industry more powerful ways to better serve its clients.

    Salesforce Solution for Commercial Operations

    Commercial Operations (GA now) assists in the management of the commercial lifecycle by providing immediate information on contract compliance, price, inventory levels, and other topics. AI-powered bots, for example, can notify field representatives when an item is unavailable for an impending operation or provide account forecasting analytics to help reps better determine where and what to sell.

    Tableau’s Health Intelligence is a predictive analytics solution that gives insights to help businesses make more informed decisions. Medtech sales teams now receive proposed rebates, bundles, or discount pricing, which assists them in identifying new items that customers may add to their existing catalogs.

    Medical Sales Emails employ generative AI to generate personalized, secure communications informing stakeholders such as hospitals or clinics that new products are available or to follow up on a sales visit with a physician.

    Salesforce Solution for Clinical Operations

    Clinical Operations assists life sciences organizations in setting up and executing efficient trials, both traditional and decentralized, in order to better support participants, clinical sites, studies, and sponsors.

    Chain of Custody Management (GA now) enables pharmaceutical businesses to keep a clear, traceable digital history of events for precision medicines. It will also help inas well as validate records using e-signature (GA Feb 2024) in accordance with US Food and Drug Administration rules. From apheresis to infusion, this can help ensure patient safety and compliant record-keeping.

    Data Cloud for Health (GA now) combines and activates medical, social, and behavioral patient data from disparate sources to create a cohesive, real-time profile. This helps pharmaceutical and medical device businesses identify potential patient or study risks, such as adherence to medications in clinical trials. Furthermore, Data Cloud for Health can construct segments from that data, such as groups that would be appropriate for a new clinical trial or care program.

    Pharma CRM

    Pharma CRM* is an engagement tool that will assist pharmaceutical organizations in interacting with stakeholders through individualized correspondence and medical, legal, and regulatory-approved digital information. This involves drug sample management, obtaining provider consent, and streamlining dosage questions across several channels.

    AI will be used to learn from engagement data, claims, and research insights, paired with offline capabilities, to support hybrid HCP experiences (GA October 2025). Pharma organizations will be able to deliver the correct prescriptions to the right people while also ensuring the wider availability of their medications from the 360-degree perspective of HCPs.

    Einstein for Life Sciences (currently in beta) will automate manual operations such as targeted email outreach. Liaisons may swiftly discover appropriate papers and repurpose successful former cases into useful resources with Knowledge Article Generation and Service Responds to fulfill medical affairs requests within agreed-upon deadlines.

    Life Sciences Cloud- Pharma and Medtech

    Availability

    • Commercial operations capabilities such as Health Intelligence and Medical Sales Emails are now generally available.
    • Clinical Operations components such as Chain of Custody and Data Cloud for Health are now generally available. Beginning in early 2024, Advanced Therapy e-signatures and Participant Management will be available.
    • Service responses and sales emails are generally available. Knowledge Articles are now in beta testing and will be released in early 2024.
    • HCP Engagement for Pharma will be ready in mid-2025.

    Partner Support

    Salesforce partners Accenture and Deloitte Digital will help Salesforce accelerate Life Sciences Cloud by providing implementation support and extensive global industry expertise.
